Slate Walling

Walling stone from Honister is one of our most popular trade products. Customers love that it’s a genuinely natural Lake District stone and this is often a requirement of local planning conditions in this area.

It’s hard-wearing, long-lasting, a superb colour and easy-to-work with.

We have three grades of walling stone you can order – Best Quality, Second Quality and Third Quality.

Best Quality (see image below) is our most prestigious walling stone and is four-to-six inches on-bed with at least two sawn edges. It’s £500 per tonne and covers three square metres to the tonne.

Second Quality (see images below) gives you two options Dockings and Random. Dockings are four-to-eight inches on-bed with at least one sawn edge. Random is four to 14 inch on-bed with no sawn edges. Your dockings are £250 per tonne and your Randoms are £185 per tonne. This will cover two-and-a-half square metres to the tonne.

Third Quality gives you two options – Hand-picked or Random. Both of these stones are up to 32-inches on bed with no sawn edges and are purely natural pieces. Hand-picked is £125 per tonne and your Random is £85. This will cover two-and-half square metres to the tonne.
